National Play Day at Hull
National Play Day is celebrated in the UK and being held on the first Wednesday in the month of August. This year, the play day is being celebrated on Wednesday – August 1, 2018. There will be many community events taken place across the country at open places and parks where the families and children gather at a place to celebrate the day. Beyond celebrating children’s right to play, it is a campaign which brings the importance of play in the life of children.
The Play Day in Hull will take place at Queen’s Gardens located at Guildhall Road, Hull HU1 2AG between 11 am to 3 pm. The event is themed up with Roald Dahl Theme to mark the 250th Anniversary of The Circus. The day is full of free activities and entertainment for families and children. The event will have the activities of den building, circus skills workshops, face painting, arts & crafts sessions, bike try out sessions and an archaeologist sessions and more.
Withernsea festival
Withernsea festival is being celebrated from Friday – August 3 to Sunday – August 5, 2018 at Withernsea and it is a free and biggest festival of best music and motorbike in Yorkshire with wonderful weekend entertainment for all to enjoy. The festival has more than 100 Live bands and musicians who appear on Main stage – Live n Loud Stage and Acoustic Chill Out Zone. There will also be funfair, craft market, stalls, entertainment and many more at the festival area.
Free Live music entertainment on the Main Stage, Numerous Stalls & Food, Children’s Entertainment and Attractions are scheduled at The Valley. Acoustic & Spoken Word Tent with Children’s Creativity Area, University of York / Hull Cosmodome, The Hut Withernsea Play Rangers and many more at Memorial Gardens, Chill out Zones. The Ken Fox Wall of Death, Motorcycle Entertainment, Various Stalls, attractions, Children’s Entertainment, Parking, Tubys Fairground Rides are at Promenade area. Summer Holidays Workshops
There will be free workshops for kids aged 4 to 11 years at the Anlaby Park Community Library located at The Greenway, Anlaby High Road, Hull HU4 6XH on Thursday afternoons between 2 pm to 3.30 pm. The sessions will take place on July 26, August 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. The kids under 8 years should be accompanied by an adult.
