Free taster on Tennis at Lorton Tennis Club

As a part of Great British Tennis Weekend, Lorton Tennis Club has organised for a free taster session on Sunday – July 22, 2018 at its triple court facility. The event is being scheduled between 2 pm to 5 pm on the day.

The Great British Tennis Weekend is an initiative by Lawn Tennis Association to help the tennis clubs to get more new people in the local community to try the sport. LTA supports for campaigning GBTW and this year, the dates for GBTW are 12th & 13th May and 21st & 22nd July. Great British Tennis Weekend event is being held in summer and many free events will be taking place across the country with free sessions that suits the family.

There are three individual sessions at Lorten Club as detailed below.

Session 1 from 2.30 pm to 3.15 pm for children (aged 4-8 years)

Session 2 from 3.15 pm to 4 pm for children (aged 9 & above)

Session 3 from 4 pm to 5 pm for Adult beginners / returners

The participants can find a friendly welcome to the club and all the materials, equipments and refreshments will be provided to the participants along with the support of a qualified professional coach.

As Great British Tennis Weekend is a part of summer activities, already a session was held in May 2018 at the club which attracted many members of adults and juniors for the coaching at the club.

Recently the club has made upgradation to its courts with 2 carpet surfaces. Those who will take part in the taster session on Great British Tennis Weekend will also be get a chance to attend another hour free session at the court on some other day. Lorton Tennis Club is accredited by Clubmark, located in the beautiful Lorton Valley between Cockermouth and Keswick in Cumbria county and the players can enjoy the stunning views of mountains around the valley while playing. The club provides opportunities for all abilities to take part in social tennis sessions, Adult coaching, Junior coaching and various tournaments. They also offer chances to play in the West Cumbria League in the summer. The club maintains 3 courts in excellent condition for the use of both visitors and members. They allow visitors to hire and play in their courts with a fee.
