PENKETH CARNIVAL
Get ready for this year’s Penketh Carnival on Saturday – July 14, 2018 at the Penketh Recreational Ground, Penketh WA5 2EU. There is Free Entry to the carnival which will begin at 11 am with a parade on the day. The carnival’s events will begin at 12 noon.
To mark this special year of Royal Prince’s Wedding, Women’s right to vote and 70th anniversary of NHS, the carnival has chosen a theme for the parade as Best of British.
Kids can dressup like Queens guards, Beefeaters, Mary Poppins, Roald Dahl characters, The NHS, The Suffragettes, British airways, Shakespeare characters & Oliver Twist, The Beatles, Medieval, Spice girls, Tudor, Alice in Wonderland and Beatrix Potter characters etc.
The carnival’s attractions will include funfair, Donkey rides, Dog show, Vintage stalls, Live music, Car boot/ craft stalls, classic, cars, wildwings birds rescue, morris dancers, bar, zorb balls, Barbique/ woodfired pizza stand and many.
The organiser team is welcoming all to join their Parade for a walk in Penketh’s Streets. The parade will have the special featuring of Morris dancers, 2 marching bands and Cart pulling Bernese mountain dogs. STOCKTON HEATH WALKING DAY
One of the famous event is Stockton Heath Walking Day which takes place every year on the 2nd Saturday in the month of July and this year it falls on Saturday – July 14, 2018. On the special day in the community, the churches and associated schools will walk through the streets of the village Stockton Heath. The parade will have the line up of bands & music to witness that the churches in the area loves their community and faith in god.
The walk will begin at 2 pm from Alexandra Park and continue through Grappenhall Road, London Road, Elesmere Road, Francis Road & then return back to the village centre along Walton Road.
You can find people on the sides of the roads of the villlage to watch this wonderful parade. If anyone interested can join the walk along with the group. There will be a circus show in the grounds of St Thomas’ School in the afternoon.
DISABILITY AWARENESS DAY
Disability Awareness Day was founded in 1992 and the charity has been managed by Warrington Disability Partnership.
Disability Awareness Day 2018 will be celebrated on Sunday – July 15, 2018 at Walton Hall Gardens, Walton Lea Rd, Higher Walton, Warrington WA4 6SN. The event is the world’s largest voluntary not for profit disability annual exhibition. There will be around 250 exhibitors, holidays, transport, leisure, equipment suppliers, support groups, employment etc. along with this, there you can also find an Arts Marquee, Sports zone (scuba diving), centre arena and entertainment for family.

STRETTON WALKING DAY
Walking Day is generally a parade by churches in the local community. Stretton Walking Day has been hosted by St. Matthew’s Church in Stretton, Cheshire on Saturday – July 21, 2018. On the Walking Day, a young lady will be crowned as the “Rose Queen” for the year at 11 am and she will lead the parade which begins at 12 noon along with music bands, Church congregation, dignitaries in the area, schools children and local families in the local area of the village.
After the parade, there will be a School Summer Fair at 1 pm organised at St Matthew’s CE Primary Schools’ ground with a nominal entry fee (£1 for adults & 50p for Kids). The fair has many activities and stalls of ice creams, cakes, sweets, books, toys, lucky dip etc. There will also be RAF spitfire Flypast available on the walking day at 2 pm where the spitfire aircraft will fly over the grounds of St Matthew School.
