As a part of International Yoga Day celebration, a free yoga session will be hosted by Yoga Instructor Briony Gardner on Thursday – 21st June 2018 at Whitaker Park, Haslingden Road, Rawtenstall, Rossendale, BB4 6RE The class will begin at 6 pm on the open grass ground and lasts till 7 pm.
Yoga is an ancient art originated from India which is coordinating body and mind. The word ‘yoga’ means to unite or join which is derived from Sanskrit language. As the importance of yoga has grown with its popularity everywhere in different forms, the United Nations by its resolution declared 21st June as the International Day of Yoga on December 11, 2014. It aims to create and spread awareness on the benefits of practicing Yoga all over the world.
Instructor Briony Gardner has finished her teacher training on Yoga with Health & Fitness Education and started practicing yoga 3 years ago. She said that through continuous practice of yoga, she has become more flexible, fearless and more stronger both using mat and on the ground.
She added that as she wants to share her passion with others, she is inviting all to this free class and hoping for rain should not be a hurdle for this open area session. But even if it rains, then the session will be held in the main gallery at the park. The session is open to all ages including kids.
Yoga Mats will be provided on first come first serve basis and those having mats are requested to bring their mats. And also she is having 20 free T Shirts of Yoga in the Park and will be given on first come first serve basis.
