Free taster sessions on the occasion of Festival of Learning at Cumbria Council

Cumbria County Council is inviting the residents of Cumbria to celebrate the national Festival of Learning 2018 between 18th June to 24th June. Community Learning and Skills Team of Cumbria County has organised for various free taster sessions at different locations of Cumbria on this occasion on different dates of this entire month. They are also organising have a go events across the region.

Cumbrians are being welcomed to make use of this wonderful opportunity to develop their learning habits and skills. One of the biggest occassion celebrated every year is Festival of Learning since 2013 in England to motivate the learners. The festival was earlier celebrated as Adult Learner’s Week from the year 1992. Learning & Works Institute has been co ordinating this festival to create awareness on learning, its benefits, recognising the best learners and motivate everyone with the habit of learning.

These sessions will be held at various locations such as libraries, Costa Coffee Shops etc. For those have passion for learning can find everything here from drawing, painting, creative writing, using effectively online job sites, math puzzles, creativity based activities, pottery, healthy eating, voluntary training, card making, photo editing, designing a web page, budgeting, fun with science, basics of learning different languages, crafts, arm knitting, conversation skills, IT skills etc and all are free.

The free sessions will take place at Allerdale, Barrow, Carlisle, Copeland, Eden and South Lakeland.
