Free carer awareness training session at Eastbourne

As a part of Carers Week, Care for the Carers has organised for a free awareness training session on Tueday – June 12, 2018 inviting volunteers, professionals and those who wish to support carers. Care for the Carers is a charity that supports the carers of East Sussex.

Carers Week is celebrated in June every year to create awareness and give recognition to the unpaid carers. This year Carers Week is being celebrated between 11th June to 17th June. In the UK, there are around 6+ million unpaid carers, who are taking care of family members, friends, neighhbour or any others who are suffering from some illness, mental disorder, physical disability etc. Every year, the charity in association with its partners organises for various events across the county to celebrate Carers Week. The theme of Carers Week 2018 is “supporting carers to stay healthy and to be connected”.

The training session is scheduled between 9.30 am to 12 noon at Sara Hampson Training Room, Eastbourne District General Hospital located at Kings Drive, Eastbourne, BN21 2UD.

The session will cover about the impact of caring on the unpaid carers, why to support carers, the rights of the carers, how can support the carers and the approach of Carer friendly community.
