Stnicks is a registered charity and a centre for nature and green living. They are doing various projects, services and events to keep the environment of York green and sustainable.
Stnicks has organised for a free event “the Homes for the Future” on May 19, 2018. It is an open day for the residents of York to visit the three Passivhauses designed with many sustainable features based on energy consumption for heating. The three – comfortable, highly ventilated, insulated and least cost – local Passivhauses designed by the Architect Phil Bixby can be visited by the residents to have an knowledge on the eco type homes. Visitors can also see the architect’s Victorian solid-walled house which is at present undergoing refurbishment.
One of the largest Eco-friendly buildings, “York Eco Depot” at Hazel Court is also open to all on the day. Anyone can come and visit the depot between 2 pm and 5 pm on the day. Booking is required for listed private homes only to get the list of addresses and directions.
