The independent bookseller Hunting Raven in Frome, owned by Winstone’s will be hosting free events where authors will hold talks about their new books. On 8th May (Tuesday), Hunting Raven Books will be hosting author Natasha Solomon. She will give an illustrated talk on how she draws from historical research to write immersive fiction. ‘House of Gold’ is her latest novel which sparked with the discovery of er family’s portrit in the Frankfurt ghetto, which inspired her to write a story. In her talk on Tuesday from 6:30pm she will talk about her story inspire by power, money and desperate marriage.
Another talk on 22nd May (Tuesday) will be by Susannah Walker. She will focus on her new book telling the story of her relationship with her own mother. This is a deeply personal memoir that raises questions about what makes us, as we are. What do our possessions of say of us or project a meaning? She will talk about her experiences of cleaning up the dilapidated and crammed house of her mother after her death.
