Winchester Cathedral will be live-streaming the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, on 19 May, Saturday. To celebrate the marriage, the cathedral will show the wedding from 12pm to 1pm, in its nave, as an event for the family, but celebrations will go on in the historic outer close until 5pm. The free event will have morris dancing, pop-up stalls set up by churches and many activities.
People also can write a prayer on the bunting for the couple, which will be hung around the close and also join in with the festive atmosphere. They can bring a picnic to eat too. However, street food will also available, provided by the Cathedral Refractory. The celebration is part of ‘Thy Kingdom Come’. This is a global celebration, a 9-day prayer being held by churches. Free tickets will be provided for the screening of the royal wedding, made available at the cathedral box office by phone to 01962-857-276. Or go to the website winchester-cathedral.org.uk.
