Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre to host free workshop and exhibition
Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre will be opening a rural themed exhibition this month. The venue in the heart of Limavady town, Londonderry (NI) will host the ‘Move+B STILL exhibition by Sara Cunningham Bell. The local artist explores in a rural theme the animal life found along Causeway Coast and over the fields of Londonderry.
The artist uses a wide variety of media to make her work a visual allegory. Her work shows how difference turns into strength with positive co-existence and includes a plethora of form. The launch event for the exhibition will be held on 18th April (Wednesday), from 5:30pm to 7pm. Available will be a wine reception and refreshments. The exhibition will go on till 19th May (Saturday).
Accompanying the event will be a free workshop to be held on 6th April (Friday), entitled as ‘Racing Animals’. Free tickets to the Cool Hand Luke screening at Glasgow
There will be a free screening at Glasgow of a remarkable, compelling prison drama, a film featuring Paul Newman, at the city centre cinema Glasgow Film Theatre. On 22nd April (Sunday), there will be a free show of ‘Cool Hand Luke’.
This 1967 film, starring Oscar-nominated actor Paul Newman, has him playing the role of the ultimate rebel, as Luke Jackson. Luke after a drunken spree, is sentenced to 2 years and locked in a prison camp in Florida. Luke refuses the orders of both jail authorities and his pecking fellow inmates. The film also casts Dennis Hopper, Van Fleet and George Kennedy, an Oscar winner.
Free tickets are being offered for the free show, only on the day, at Glasgow Film Theatre box-office, from 12noon. A maximum of two tickets per person will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
