Free ‘Music by the Sea’ event will be returning to Aldeburgh

February 22nd, 2018 by Sandy

This summer, the Music By The Sea, free music event, will be returning to Aldeburg, the resort in Suffolk. The much loved free music event returns after a 2 year absence, when it was replaced by a ticketed festival, Thorpefest, at Thorpeness Country Club, on the seafront, as the organisers decided for a change. The music event returns this summer not on the seafront, but inland, as an open-air event on 30th June, Saturday, on King’s Field, Saxmundham Road, at 4:00pm.

The event will be supporting the charity Inspire Suffolk, which helps in overcoming challenges that young people face. Its numerous personal development activities and training programmes put them onto a positive future and employment. The music event’s sponsors are Direct Seafoods, East of England Co-op, Suffolk Secrets and TA Hotel Collection.

The free event will feature top acts, such as, the ELO tribute band, Albion Mills, the popular Suffolk band, performers JS & The Lockerhillies and Everly Everly. There will be beer marquees, Pimm’s and Prosecco, plus alternative food outlets and BBQ. There’s an entertaining children’s area too. The rousing finale for the evening will be fireworks display at 10pm. There will be parking area beside the concert arena, plus a park and ride service operating from two car park areas of Thorpeness. The website- musicbythesea.co.uk will announce more details and about booking.
