Free sessions to train for the London Marathon

February 19th, 2018 by Sandy

Training for a marathon is a dedicated task and New Balance and GoodGym are joining hands to help any marathon aspirant with special free sessions of training, in the build-up to the London Marathon. GoodGym is a community running group, collaborating with New Balance. But there’s a difference to the free training sessions GoodGym is organising. On every run being organised, participants take part in some community wok too, such as gardening, painting or visiting vulnerable people.

The three free training sessions would each focus on a different aspect of the training. The session on 20th February will give advice on maintaining the right place during the run of the marathon. You’ll also be painting a farmhouse, on the 16km route of the marathon. The following session is an 18km long run on 20th March and the topic is to be endurance, something you should know well in a training schedule. The charitable work en route is to weed and plant in a Greenwich community garden.

Just a few days prior to the London Marathon, is the final session from New Balance and GoodGym, fixed on 17th April and it’s a 18km run. En route you’ll be stopping at charity Rhythms of Life, to sort their food donations. All the free sessions start from Spitfield’s London Marathon store and last about 2½ hrs. To attend, please sign up at the GoodGym website or visit the site- newbalance.co.uk/londonmarathon.
