Free tickets offered to attractions for the Herts Big Weekend

February 17th, 2018 by Sandy

The Herts Big Weekend is an opportunity to people to get free tickets to a host of activities and attractions across the county. With 51 attractions offering free passes, people can register in the Herts Big Weekend ballot and the lucky ones winning tickets needn’t spend a penny to explore destinations and enjoy activities, during the ‘big weekend’, falling on 24 March and 25 March.

The event is designed to bring people out and about, exploring places at their doorstep, which is a part of the English Tourism Week that highlights the importance of one of the fastest growing sectors, tourism. Sandra Matthews-Marsh, chief executive of Visit Herts, remarked the event signals the start of the tourist season and they are proud to be a part of celebrations for the English Tourism Week. She sees it as a fantastic way to celebrate and an occasion to give local residents a chance to discover, or explore, what’s on offer in Herefordshire, for free.

Tickets have also been donated by participating attractions to the charity – Family Holiday Association, which helps struggling families. Those who wish to see the full list of attractions participating in the big event and want a chance to win free tickets, can visit the website. They must register by 11 March at the website – hertsbigweekend.co.uk, to get into the random ballot. Only 2 tickets per household will be allocated to winners. A few family tickets are available. Anyone can bid for as many tickets they like, to get a chance of winning. Last year saw over 19,000 applications for tickets.
