The popular library festival, ‘Library Fest’, is due to return to Leeds this month, for the 4th year. The festival has a programme running from 3rd to 17th February. It will feature story times, author events, coding, crafts, performances, workshops and display of special collections.
Some of the highlights in the array of activities and events across the city are included here. A free event for anyone over their 60s, with an interest in music, are being invited to Hunslet Library, to create their own music, using a range o digital instruments. To be hosted on 6th February, between 10am and 11:30am. There’s no booking required.
Pyjama Drama on 8th February (Thursday), is for kids under 5, with imaginative fun and games to be held from 11am to 11:30am, at Dewsbury Road Community Hub. A Family Quiz Night will be hosted at Beeston Library on 12th February, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm and booking for the free event is at the site- ticketsource.co.uk/leedslibraryevents.
The Dewsbury Community Hub will host Open Mic Night on 5th February, from 7pm to 9pm, for you to read a work of a favourite writer, or your own. As part of the festival, a special range of events celebrating LGBT History Month will be held at Central Library. Again, a free event with booking at TicketSource website. Other highlights include crime writing workshops and talks on family roles. Maid Cafe and Retro Events will close the festival on 17th February (Saturday), A second LGBT History Month event, with no booking required, will also be held in the Children’s Library.
