Winchester will be offering a wonderful festive treat with a series of pop-up visual art installations and outdoor performances, across the city from 30th November. ‘Fondly Imagined Christmases’ is the festival hosting a series of free events, arranged by Wooly Hat Fair, after its success last year in hosting ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’. It includes songs from local choirs, hearing heart-warming stories based on local places and people, plus festive refreshments, during the event.
The festival kicks off with ‘Stocking Filler’, a unique promenade performance on the Winchester Discovery Centre Terrace, inspired by unforgettable moments of past Christmases. Taking place at Shentons Solicitors, is a comical court case like no other, called Legally Christmas, to be hosted on 1st and 8th of December. On 2nd and 9th December, the Newburys at the Newbury Building Society, are throwing a Christmas party with seasonal customs and festive games, where everyone is invited.
On 15th and 22nd December, visitors can meet one who helps guide home the lost travellers, the Christmas Lighthouse Keeper. ‘Living Portraits’ is a walk through exhibition showing video installations of the most colourful characters of Winchester, showing on 16th December, at The United Church. Celestial Sound Cloud: Sounds Like Christmas, will light up the sky on 20th and 21st December, at the Cathedral Outer Close.
