Manchester will soon opening its first Christmas Arts and Crafts market, to be hosted at Manchester Cathedral, this weekend. On 17th and 18th November, over 75 artists and makers will converge under one roof at this beautiful building, offering a huge selection of handcrafted prints, jewellery, textiles, paintings and chocolates at the stalls set up here.

In addition to stalls for traders, the free event will host the famous gin bar of Gin Society, offering a range of artisan gins, cocktails and proseco. A Train Swing will provide music and demonstrate dance of a bygone era by skilled dancers. The stall by Statement Arts will offer witty images of the North West and Manchester. A stall by Wilton St Craft Co will offer handmade candles, good for vegans. A selection of purses, bags, pencil-cases and bunting, will be offered by Clair Templeton Designs.

Rule of Three are event organisers and they always receive at Manchester Cathedral the warmest welcomes from everybody, said Shelagh Bourke of the team. They are thrilled to return, to this beautiful building they enjoy, with this fantastic arts and crafts Christmas market, she added.

The Dean pf Manchester Cathedral, Rogers Govenders, was pleased to welcome back, for this new exciting fair, the team behind ‘Vintage at Manchester Cathedral’. He added that they look forward to open up the building to local traders to showcase their wares, in a beautiful setting where some of the visitors are coming for the first time. The free event at Manchester Cathedral on Victoria Street, at Manchester, will be open from 10am to 8pm, on 17 November, Friday, and from 10am to 4pm, on 18 November, Saturday.

Free entry to The Venue Park Hall for fireworks display

There will be a fireworks display at The Venue Park Hall, on 25th November, Saturday. The event has been rearranged after the scheduled fireworks display was stopped and cancelled last weekend, at the last minute by the fireworks company, due to a technical issue with its electronics. Around 500 visitors who gathered for the inaugural display, on Sunday, left The Venue in Wittington, Oswestry, disappointed.

The organisers have rearranged the display for Saturday, when a Welsh Premier League match between The New Saints and Carmathen Town will be played at the stadium. Facilities manager at The Venue, Matt Lee, had earlier apologised to customers and is offering free tickets to the fireworks display and football match. ‘Fireworks Take Two’ will use the same fireworks company as they want to prove to visitors with a good show, he added. The football match has the kick-off at 2:30pm and the fireworks display fires off at 6:00pm, with free entry to both.
