The Village Guildford will be celebrating Christmas with a host of free events and activities for the most wonderful time of the year. The focal point of the festive cheer will be the boxpark in the town centre. It will host Yuletide activities, beginning with the switched-on of Christmas lights on 16th November. The Andertons Music stage will host live entertainment under a heated, covered patio area.
There will be many free events including outdoor ice-skating, with the ice rink open on 16 November too, and sessions kicking-off from midday and running till 8:00pm. There’s a magic show for around 30 minutes, at selected times, all through the day. There’s plenty of treats and face painting too. Revealing Guildford Borough Council’s plan, the lead member for economic development & tourism, Councillor David Bilbe, said The Village is not only popular with visitors and residents, but also creates business opportunities and is the town centre’s unique place.
