The Winter Giant Lantern Parade is returning to Cardigan, following its inaugural success last year. This year the procession will be held on 8th December (Friday). The parade will go through the streets of Cardigan from 7pm, led by Small World Theatre, from Pendre Art to Cardigan Castle. The event will end at around 8:30pm with a fireworks display. Last year saw the event attracting giant lanterns created by people and more than 350 lanterns paraded. It lit p the town, delighting spectators lining the streets, to celebrate the festive season with the community. The event is being planned to be bigger and better this year and the shops in the Welsh town will be open for late night shopping.
Small World Theatre will be holding free lantern making workshops again. The lantern making session will be fun and creative, using tissue paper and PVA glue. To join the free workshop session, come in old clothes and aprons, just call Small World Theatre on phone – 01239-615952. It is suitable for all abilities and ages.
