Bolton holding first lantern parade during Christmas lights switch-on

October 23rd, 2017 by Sandy

Bolton will be lighting up this Christmas by holding its first lantern parade. The first light parade will be held on 16th November (Thursday) during the Christmas Lights switch on event at this town in Greater Manchester. The honour to switch on will be going to comic Paddy McGuiness, this year. Special lantern making will take place in a free lantern-making workshop, at the Market Place Shopping Centre. The lanterns are to be made to represent companies or community groups and will be taking part in the new parade. This lantern parade in celebration of the community will hopefully develop into a stand-alone occasion for the town in future. Those who like to attend the free event can RSVP to Steve Bailey by email to steve.bailey@bolton.gov.uk. Or you can just come on the day.
