A free event o 14th October, will mark the launch of the first book in a series of children’s books by the Shropshire mum-of-two, Emma Blantern. The official launch at 11am, at the Witchurch Library, of the picture book Tezel and the Christmas Witches, is part the National Libraries week. The event, open to all ages, will give an opportunity to kids to hear a reading of the book. They also get to make their own tinsel tailed cats.
Emma Blantern, who lives in Witchurch, previously worked writing scripts and performances in theatre education. She first wrote the book last year during a Team Author UK led writing retreat, held at Alkington Grange Barns, her family run business. She was thankful for Sue and the team at Team Author UK, for having guided her along the whole process, right from illustrating it and editing it, to finally publishing it. She added her thanks to Holly Bushnell for illustrating the picture book, remarking that pictures are very important in children’s books and they bring life to the story. She added that she had no doubt that children would love all her illustrations,
Tezel and the Christmas Witches is already an Amazon Bestseller, in its category, and with Halloween and Christmas approaching, it would get everybody into a celebration mood. She has already shared the book with Whixall Primary School students and is looking forward to visit more schools. The book follows the adventures of Amy the Christmas Witch and Teezel the cat. It is a magical story of how they help Santa. Signed copies of the book will be available at the free event, open to all, as well as lollipops and mince pies for kids.
