Salisbury will be bringing back free theatre again when the Fringe Festival of Writing is being celebrated in the city once again, now in its 5th year. Held on 6th (Friday), 7th (Saturday) and 8th (Sunday) of October, the Fringe offers a weekend of great events, put together by Andrew Thackeray, the Fringe director and his team. There will be First Cuts which will give audiences a chance to watch original work, and features the premier of Pete Talman’s play (on Friday at 7:30pm). Then there’s Rough Cuts featuring bite sized plays that suits to all tastes, on Sunday from 3.30pm to 5pm. Short Cuts is the show-piece of the festival on Saturday, with performances between 6pm and 7.30pm. The Pheasant Inn will host all these performances.
On Sunday the Monologue Mash will see actors competing. The BIBIAS theatre company appears for the firs time, presenting an original work on Saturday, at the Salisbury Arts Centre, from 4:30pm to 5:00pm. There’s also a free workshop here from 10am to noon, for creative school children aged from 4 to 7 years. A workshop led by Daniel Page (of BBC fame) will show how to write jokes and the secrets of comedy at Boston Tea Pary. Timings: 3pm to 4pm, 4:30pm to 5pm. Poetika will present a pieces of spoken word during a poetry open mic event on Sunday at the Five Bells pub, from 2pm to 3pm. See more info and details at the site – salisburyfringe.co.uk.
