A national touring exhibition, Playback, will be showcasing the works of aspiring film-makers, now on display at The Hive, located at Worcester city centre. The interactive exhibition at the unique Worcester library building will be going on until 21st September. Supported by the Arts Council of England and Channel 4 Random Acts, it offers over 200 short films made by film-makers from across England, aged between 16 and 24, including some from Worcestershire.
Visitors can choose from a variety and number of ground-breaking films produced, highlighting strong expressions of creativity, using he interactive displays that offer selection of works by category and location. The Hive will not only present an array of films, but also be hosting a free workshop for young people interested in film-making. ‘Filmmaking: Whre do I start?’, a workshop by Rural Media, will be held on 20th September (Wednesday), from 4pm to 7pm. It will explore short-film ideas, offer tips on what makes a good story and critique inspiring shorts, for those aged between 16 and 24 invited there. There are limited places on the workshop and are given on a first come, first served basis.
The Hive’s business development manager, Laura Worsfold, who is delighted to host such a showcase of talent, hoped the exhibition will inspire and motivate young artists to express their creativity and develop their skills. Tour manager of Playback, Corinne Orton, said Playback allows young people to express creativity and communicate ideas through the medium of film.
