A free workshop and marketing event to explore the benefits of marketing cycling tourism for the Borders, as fist of its kind event, will be held on 26th September, in Galashiels (Selkirkshire). The event organised by Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland, at the Old Gala House, aims to explore the potential in Galashiels, Melrose and Selkirk areas for cycle tourism.
An opportunity for the cycling industry businesses will be given to pitch on what they can do. Suggestions in ways to package their services with others, to improve the journey of cycling tourists and to make Borders businesses more bike friendly, will be presented. The Tweed Valley has something to offer everybody, like road riding and mountain biking to families on bikes.
The event intends to improve understanding of the benefit of cycling to local businesses of the area and what’s on offer, plus how Borders can improve such offers. It will discuss the different types of cycling markets to be tapped and how. Any business from the cycling industry wanting to make a short pitch at the free workshop, can email to Colena.cottter@scottishcycling.org.uk. Otherwise, book a place through Eventbrite site to attend.
