Free family fun day coming to Hull Truck Theatre

The Hull Truck Theatre in Kensington upon Hull, will be hosting a great family fun day for free, on 29th July, Saturday. The free event will run from 10am to 4pm. People of all ages can enjoy loads of fun that includes theatre-tours, story-telling and face-painting on the Saturday, where there will also a Lego building.

The event is free and you can dress up to attend, without any booking done in advance. However, there is limited places in the tours and so booking is required at the theatre. The backstage tours are being offered at 11am, 11.45am, 12.30pm, 1.15pm, 2pm & 2.45pm. Sound and Lighting demonstrations are also being offered to visitors by Hull Truck Theatre’s Productions department.

Also put on displa here will be previous production designs of Hull Truck Theatre, for people to find out how a show is made. Both adults and children can try out costumes, use the photo-booth to take their photos and try artistic skills at the craft table. Airy Fairies Balloons will demonstrate balloon modelling and the Mud Pie Arts children’s theatre company will hold story-telling sessions.

Community project co-ordinator at Hull Truck Theatre, Magda Moses, said the whole family gets a chance to see what’s happening at Hull Truck Theatre, at the Youth Theatre and at regular craft sessions or family activities. The Family Open Day is an opportunity to spend quality time together, express themselves, unleash imaginations and creativity with arts and crafts, she explained.
