Haverhill Town Council has a summer programme of free events ahead. The fun starts on 26 July, Wednesday, at the Recreation Ground, where the annual Bid Day Out will be hosted between 19am and 4pm. Besides information stalls, there will be fun activities. Find new attractions, like a sprint tunnel, last man standing, looping bikes and a travelator. Other old favourites include kid’s inflatable world, climbing wall and bungee trampolines. Although it’s all free, visitors should collect a writband at the bandstand, to participate in the fun.
East Town Park will host The Picnic in the Park, on 2 August, Wednesday. There’s also free performances by The Little Blue Monster Theatre Company, at 11:30am & 1:30pm, of Dogs Don’t Do Ballet. Free workshops include mini gardening, Giant Wooden Games, clay modelling, dance and others. Two other Community Fun Days are also to be held. Chalkstone Fun Day at The New Croft is on 9 August, from 11am. The Leiston Community Centre will host on 16 August, from 11am to 3pm, the Clements Fun Day. On 6 August and 20 August, at the Market Square, there will be the free Tribute Nights.
The arts and leisure manager, Nick Keeble, said the activities give everyone a chance to have a good time out and they they aim to keep the fun going till the end of the summer holidays. All activities are free to attend, but those who like can contribute to the voluntary donation buckets, to offset the costs of the events put on.
