A free arts and culture workshop called ‘How to Bring Arts to School’ will be hosted on 4th July, by the Sussex Arts Academy (SSA), to attract all interested in arts and culture. Artists, teachers and youngsters can take advantage of the event at Chichester’s Oxmarket Centre of Arts, also endorsed by Peter Lovesey, the crime writer. Peter Lovesey said, backing the project, that he was delighted to learn of SAA’s variety of ways to enable young school or college going people to enjoy and partake in a whole range of arts
SSA sees the event as a chance to hear from artists already working for them and to show how the charity supports the community’s professional artists, in order to help the participation in the arts by disadvantaged youngsters. The free workshop by SAA is part of the programme of events for the Festival of Chichester 2017. This includes a drinks reception to introduce the aims of the charity and the project.
Representatives of two SAA supported projects, that are highly successful, will talk here. Story Factory Chichester helps children of any ability or background of all ages to bring out their imagination through storytelling. Stopgap Dance Company is integral to Dance for a Special Generation workshops running this year at special schools across the county. An open forum will conclude the event in the evening.
