A scheme offers aspiring actors to take part in a theatrical melodrama. A free workshop is being offered on 17th June to amateur actors in Richmond, at the Georgian Theatre Royal, the most complete Georgian playhouse in the country. The workshop, part of the annual Georgian festival of Richmond, provides expert training in the theatrical traditions and acting styles of 19th century melodrama. The workshop offers audition for a parts to be played too. It is for a professionally directed play being staged at Theatre Royal.
Various parts being offered include as a drunk castle keeper, as a cross-dressed daughter and also sentimental farther. Attendees get a chance to develop their skills in the melodramatic acting technique, under Sarah Wynne Kordas, a professional director and 19th century theatre specialist.
