Clerkenwell Design Week offers 3 days of free events, shows and installations

The Clerkenwell Design Week is a must-see annual design festival, which runs from 23rd to 25th May. The 3-day festival now in its 8th year, spreads over a two-and-a-half square miles, has 7 main exhibitions, with each having a different theme, spread across 7 main venues with 100 spaces in total. Visitors can follow the pink signs to take them through the district, from Exmouth Market to Smithfield, to stroll from one to another free event.

Some of the must-see designers and spaces include: The Beacon – a seven and a half metre tower, Platform, House of Detention – hosted in the vaults of a former Victorian prison, Hakwood’s “Double Vision” installation in Clerkenwell Close, the British Collection at St. Jame’s Church, Icon House of Culture, the Playbox installation designed by Fraher Architect & Shape London and the Next Generation Design Pavilion in the Garden of St. James.
