Attend free Sgt Pepper golden anniversary events in Liverpool
To celebrate the release of The Beatles’ ground breaking album Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, now 50 years ago, Liverpool will be hosting a number of free events. Free shows for the public to attend are at different venues, including the Aintree Racecourse. A free event – ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ will be held from 25th May to 16th June, at city-wide locations. ‘Fixing a Hole’ to be hosted at Stanley Dock, is a free event on 1st June, to be held in White Tomkins and Courage, on Regent Road.
A number of free workshops are to be held from 29th May to 4th June, for visitors to Tate Liverpool. These will focus on the lyrics of Paul McCartney, led by artist Karen Green and Harriet Hall. On 5th June, at Aintree Racecourse, there’ll be the free show- ‘Mr. Kite’s MAGICIRCUS’. ‘When I’m Sixty-Four’ is a free city-wide event on 8th June, as will be ‘Good Morning Good Morning Show’ on 9th June, from 7am to 12 noon. Another free event, to take place from 10th June to 11th June, is the Rita Riot/Rita Requiem, at the Liverpool Cathedral, at The metropolitan Cathedral, St. James’ Burial Ground and The Oratory.
Google’s Digital Garage to offer free digital skills training in Hastings
Google’s Digital Garage will be offering free digital skills training for the local businesses and residents here in Hastings, on 5th May, on Hastings Pier. The internet giant announced the first stop on its coastal town tour, to be Hastings, on England’s south east coast, with Brighton and Hove as the next of the few stops confirmed.
Digital Garage will deliver workshops with a focus on helping tourism and the hospitality businesses and the staff of attractions and cultural institutions. To ensure small businesses posses the right digital skills to boost the appeal of tourism and the offerings on the British coasts, google has partnered with The National Coastal Tourism Academy, The British Hospitality Association, Visit England an UKinbound.
The workshops offer anybody interested in learning or honing their digital skills, one-to-one mentoring by experts. Those benefiting can be anyone from restaurant owners to staff of larger hotel chains and anyone interested in improving their presence online, using tools such as analytics, search optimisation and social media.
