Free Vintage Weekend is back in Edinburgh
Greater Grassmarket will be hosting the free Vintage Weekend for the second year. It is back in Edinburgh on the 29th and 30th April, running from 12pm to 5pm, supported by the Greater Grassmarket Business Improvement District (BID). The weekend celebrates all things vintage with free entertainment for all visitors coming in.
The catwalk show, Vintage Fashion Show, will take place at 2pm, featuring finest vintage wares from retailers, that includes Godiva Boutique and Armstrongs Vintage Emporium. It will focus on fashion from evening to day wear, fit for all occasions and the vintage looks for this summer.
The Vintage Variety Show takes place at 12pm, 1pm and 3pm, hosted by the Gypsy Charms group. The Great Aziz- the magician, the French Fling Showgirls- the Scottish cabaret group, the acrobatic duo, Saw Guy and Deux Ailes, and others will be performing. The Shiverin’ Sheiks, rockabilly band, will be performing each day from 4pm.
Visitors can admire hotrods and vintage cars from 12pm on Saturday, with Distinguished Gentleman’s Bike Club showcasing their bikes alongside Royal Enfield Edinburgh dealer. On both days visitors can pick from Vintage Market, vintage clothing or classic bric-a-brac treasures. An array of street performers will keep children entertained all through the weekend.
The Vintage Weekend follows its success in 2016 and is one of the free events that have been lined-up by Greater Grassmarket BID this spring/summer to increase footfall over the area. The BID project manager, Norrie Stewart, said they are excited to bring back the vintage event bigger and better than last year. With 50 independent retailers here, it is the perfect destination for vintage collectors and lovers, he claimed.

The Scottish Homebuilding and Renovating Show is back on 20th and 21st May this year, at the SEC Glasgow. Here’s a chance to grab free tickets to the show, which is Scotland’s biggest consumer exhibition for self-building home improvers and renovators.
