Fee events at the Inverness Science Festival coming this month

April 16th, 2017 by Sandy

The Inverness Science Festival will have a range of free events taking place over its 2-week programme, which is slated from 28th April to 13th May. The festival will feature a Lego hide & seek session at the Inverness Library, a periodic table trail at the Victorian Market and a public lecture series. The talks include reducing home energy consumption, forensics of crime scenes and dolphins in Moray Firth.

Festival events in previous years included a discussion on weather forecasting and family history research using DNA. The previous years have attracted thousands of visitors and organisers hope for a similar turnout this time too

A free family event on 29th April (Saturday) will be hosted at the Inverness Leisure, where children and adults can join in a variety of activities, that include T-rex finger puppet crafting, making giant bubbles, racing balloons and learning about astronomy. Along with the public programme, is a series of school events, offering ethical hacking, learning to code robots and about the human body.

Teams from maths, science, technology and engineering at University of the Highlands and islands are organising the science festival. For details about the free events and full programme, visit the website – uhu.ac.uk/isf.
