Free family fun and top acts at Wath Festival

The Wath Festival is returning to Wath-upon-Dearne and the family friendly festival has free events during the day and headline acts in the evening. The festival is being hosted during this May Bank Holiday weekend, running from 28th April to 1st May (over 4 days).

Friday will see activities, like performances by ROAR African Drummers (at Montgomery Square), by North Academy of Performing Arts, by Wath school choirs, Harthill Morris and Wath Morris. A traditional maypole dance will be followed by a procession moving to the Wath Church, for the bun throwing event. A marquee on Town Hall Green will have musicians performing. Find a drumming workshop by Barnsley Samba Band, fit for any age. Rotherham Borough Council’s Cycle Hub will offer free repairs and bike hire.

The annual folk and roots music weekend will run from 28th April to 1st May. Headline acts by the Crackers and Holy Moly are on Saturday night. Balkanistic boogie dance band, the Baghdaddies, and Plumhall the Americana folk pedlars, will join the Chris While and Julie Mathews performing acts.
