The Cheltenham Jazz Festival this spring, is taking place alongside the Cheltenham Festival, starting from 26th April (Wednesday), running till 1st May (Monday). The around town programme will see the Jazz Festival hosting more than 90 free events across popular venues, in this town in Gloucestershire, England. Returning to the town’s clubs, pubs and streets, the events offer a chance to experience free entertainment at popular venues. The highlight for this year will be at Bottle of Sauce, the popular bar & restaurant, hosting a New Orleans House Party, featuring all through the day, on Saturday, pop-up performances and two live bands in the evening. Jo Whiley will be returning again this year with the BBC Music. He will introduce the show case of the county’s best bands, while at the heart of Cheltenham Jazz Festival will be the Free Stage hosted in Montpellier Gardens. Ian George, the festival director, spoke of the initiative offering more than 90 free concerts to jazz fans, for 6 days, at venues ranging from banks to churches, from high-street stages to pubs.
