The American football tournament- Jaguars Se7ens Cup, will be launched in Manchester with a festival of football. The Northern Regional heats will be held here on 2nd September (Saturday) and the Southern Regional heats will start on 9th September (Saturday) in London. The winners of the tournament will be given by British American football the biggest prize offer. The winning team gets to go to Super Bowl LII with all their expenses met.
The tournament will be featured in Sky’s NFL coverage, announced Jacksonville Jaguars and Sky Sports. The coverage is first for flag football on UK TV. The London’s Team is the only one to commit playing the Jacksonville Jaguars in the capital, for at least one game, till 2020. Features from both the festivals will be broadcast on Sky Sport in addition to social media content across related digital platforms.
Free sessions of JagTag and coaching will be held throughout the tournaments. Anybody interested in American football is urged to join the coaching sessions to learn more about the game. Thousands of young people now play regularly in the JagTag schools programme. Hundreds of amateur players last year have been hosted by the Jaguars Academy.
All the 50 tournament places in the non-contact game have sold-out, owing to strong interest in the seven-on-seven competition. An extra 10 places have been added to the London tournament, for more fans to compete, with teams of 7 to 10 persons allowed. Teams can sign up on the site- jags-sevens-cup.com. The tournament is supported by the year-round commitment by Jaguars to participation of American football. Winners of each regional will clash at Allanz Park, in a North vs South championship, ahead of the game to be held in Wembley Stadium.
