A festival is being held to celebrate the Champions League football tournament, between 1st June and 4th June. The festival called UEFA Champions Festival will have many events. The festival will be held at Roald Dahl Pass in Cardiff Bay, for the Champions League final, but there will be no live public screening to watch the game and FAW says it will close at 5pm on the day (Saturday) and open the next day (Sunday).

There will be no fan zone to celebrate the achievement of the Welsh football team. A FAW spokesperson said the UEFA Champions Festival will have the atmosphere of a fanzone but no public screening of the match in line with the event security plan.

The free event will include- a free photograph alongside the trophy, live entertainment, five-a-side pitch that can be used by community groups, a football museum – the Champions Gallery and an official UCL Final 2017 megastore.

Organisers say that Saturday will be extremely busy, as the fans will be arriving at the city. Additionally there will be a huge camping village to accommodate visitors at Pontcamma Fields from 31st May to 5th June. A new website will be launched for the free event with regular updates leading up to the final.
