Bath Taps into Science, the award winning festival, returns this weekend and is bigger and better than ever before this time. The programme takes place from 11th to 18th March and is packed with many demos, hands-free workshops, activities and performances. This estival was founded in 2000 by Prof. Chris Budd of University of Bath and this is its 17th year. Aimed to inspire both children and families, plus an opportunity to show the impact of science and technology on the community to researchers the festival has become popular.
The events culminate on 18th March in a big Family Science Fair, which is a great opportunity for families. It’s to be held at the Victoria Park, near to Royal Crescent and the bandstand. Some other events featured are a musical performance – ‘Superwoman of Science’ at The Edge, a comedy adventure hosted in Hayesfield Girls School and a talk by Patricia Fara on history of gender in science. On 17th March, the University of Bath campus hosting Schools Science Fair, will see over 1,700 school children visiting.
