The Selby Arts Festival is planning more acts to perform, which will be held from 22nd July and 30th July. Dave Edmunds, organiser, said talks are on with a headline comedy act and also with a number of musical artists to perform at events across the town.
The organiser said a crowdfunding campaign has got donations of almost £3,500 and hopes the £5,000 target be reached in weeks. He said someone well known on television and stand-up shows will on the sets for the start of the festival. He wouldn’t say who it is, but said it’s great to have this person for the first year of the festival as a headline act. He added they were waiting to hear back from certain artists as it is really a busy period but scheduling will see big acts performing live in Selby.
Donations to support the festival can be given through crowdfunder.co.uk/selby-arts-festival-1. For details follow Selby Arts on Facebook, or on Twitter (@SelbyArtsFest). The 9-day festival will include free events, pop-up performances, comedy, music, theatre and family events.
