Celebrate a Victorian Christmas at Kensington Palace

Kensington Palace will be celebrating Christmas, making it ideal for family-friendly festive fun for all those visiting on 3rd December, the coming Saturday. Celebrate all things Victoriana and find he palace decorated in traditional Victorian style for Christmas. Also listen to the lecture on ‘The Rise of Christmas shopping’ from 11am to 12.30pm. Just right for all those interested to know how Victorians celebrated Christmas. Enjoy a ticketed brunch too. The lecture looks back to the Victorian era of shopping, from advertising and window displays, to the gifts that Queen Victoria received and gave.

On 3rd, 10th and 17th December activities are right for younger visitors aged between 5 and 11 years. The seasonal highlight helps them to discover how presents of 150 years ago were and to play with the favourite toys of the queen’s childhood. Also you can craft a decoration to hang it on the Queen’s Christmas Tree and take home the paper-cut lantern you created. Entry free to Queen Victoria’s Christmas.
