The University of Manchester will be hosting ‘The Frost Fair’ at its Whitworth Art Gallery, on 3rd and 4th December, between 11am and 7pm. Get festive and visit the Manchester Christmas Market too. The Whitworth Art Gallery will transform into a Scandinavian wonderland, hosting a plethora of free events that weekend.
One of the free activities in the 2-day shindig will be ice-skating on an environmentally sustainable ice-rink. An outdoor cinema in the Art Garden will be screening short films and images of the Northern Lights. To keep the festive air going there will be live music, international street-food, craft ales, mulled wine and hot chocolate.
UK’s famous outdoor arts company Walk The Plank, will be performing ‘The Ice Queen &Ice Queen’s Courtyard’ at the Sculpture Terrace, involving an array of theatre forms, including puppetry and light displays. A spectacular evening of fire and fireworks show will bring the free event on this Christmas weekend to a close on Sunday.
