An outdoor digital light exhibition, Lighwaves, will be hosted by Quay Culture from 9th December until 18th December, at Salford Quays and MediaCityUK, running daily between 12pm and 10:30pm. The annual free event will showcase local, national and international artists, displaying their digital light displays, also featuring 9 artworks in public spaces. The displays will spread across from Salford Quays’ Plaza, filling spaces from The Lowry to the Lowry Outlet, spanning to MedCityUK’s Piazza and River Irwell.
Quays Parnership supports Quays Culture. This organisation is leading the development of the Quays as a cultural destination. It organises arts and cultural events outdoors, all through the year. Quays Culture will collaborate this year with Blackpool Illuminations to showcase its light collection. Hence the MeidiaCityUK location is inclded as it hosts the BBC Installations, that include Postman Pat, Noddy, the Tardis and Dr. Who Daleks. It also features ‘Voyage’ installation created by Aether and Hemera, who will give an artist talk on 10th December. The annual free event has for all ages digital workshops from 9th to 11th December.
