The Digital Ilkley event, on 1st November, at the Kings Hall and Winter Gardens, Ilkley, West Yorkshire, is a free event featuring speakers and activities, with Adi Grover, Marvel comic illustrator and Mark Wright, Apprentice TV show winner, attending the event.
Adi Grover is to be judge at a competition for year six children, to be held for primary schools, to create a digital game to be used by year one children, in the evening. A session, for the class winning the challenge, at Clip n Climb, is the reward.
A Digital Career fair will be held in the afternoon, for six form and year eleven. The event will be opened by Mark Wright. Steve Pearce, an entrepreneur, will deal about building a commercial app. For those considering future careers, the Bradford Council IT and speakers will cover issues such as Digital Forensics and helping women in cyber roles.
A range of speakers from industry, the police and others, will talk on how to play safe online. Stalls at the Winter Gardens will support the activities and presentations. Stuart Hyde, organiser, said it is a fantastic opportunity for all ages to learn about the digital world and engage in activities.
