The South London Waste Partnership along with Recycle London, will be hosting a series of free events throughout October and November to encourage and convince people to do more repairing and recycling, so as to send less rubbish to the landfills.
A series of ‘Restart Parties’ events will be hosted at each borough and residents can bring in electronic products to be repaired and even learn how to repair them. Residents can set up stalls to sell bric-a-brac at ‘Jumble Trails’. There will also be ‘Love Your Clothes’ sewing workshops with Miss Libby Rose present to help repair the old clothes.
Restart Parties will e held on 18th and 26th October and then on 9th and 19th November. More information on Restart Parties are at the site- therestartproject.org. Love Your Clothes workshops will be held on 11th October, at Wimbledon Plaza; on 13th October, at Kingston Market Place; on 16th October, at North End in Croydon; on 22nd October, at Sutton High Street. The workshops’ morning session from 11am to 2:30pm is on repair and alterations, whereas the afternoon session is into styling and customisation.
