Free workshops in Hereford to train people to go online

October 6th, 2016 by Sandy

Get Online Week, is an awareness week that aims to help people get started on computers and using the internet. Running from 17th to 28th October, it will be held in Herefordshire, with a series of free drop-in sessions and training workshops offered by Fastershire Broadband and Herefordshire Council, to be held across Ledbury, Leominster, Ross-on-Wye, Hereford and Kington libraries. Free training sessions are being offered by The Leaning Box of Herefordshire Housing Group, Wye Learning, Saxon Hall and Community Centre and The Kindle Centre.

Cabinet member for economy and corporate services, Councillor Harlow, also responsible for the Fastershire project, said they hoped to make Get Online Week more successful this year with a set of excellent workshops to help teach people to stay safe online, to shop, pay bills, use social media online, as well as send emails. For more information on the free sessions and registration, visit the local library, or go to the website – fastershire.com/events.
