Hundreds of free fitness and sport sessions offered across Cumbria

September 27th, 2016 by Sandy

The Go Active Weekend will see hundreds of free sessions, taster days and vouchers being offered across Cumbria, on 1st and 2nd October. This weekend, anyone interested can try out canoeing or even martial arts. Or go with Go Ape just swinging, or go cycling across a lake. Or try winning a session at Furness Boxing Club. Or hire a kayak for a half-day session.

As part of the Go Active Cumbria campaign, the Go Active Weekend runs in association with GSK, Active Cumbria and Cumbria County Council. Cumbrians, 68% of them, currently spend less than 30mins per month on any kind of exercise. By giving them a chance to enjoy something like this, the Go Active campaign intends to change all that.

Come along to the many free events offered, with loads of prizes, or join Sky Rides, the Great Cumbrian Run, Jennings Rivers Ride, or Parkruns. Just sign-up quickly before the free sessions are filled up, by visiting the site- goactivecumbria.com.
