Ordsall will see a free sports and community festival being hosted by a community group this weekend, on 10th September. This event on Saturday capitalises on the spirit and interest generated in Britain by the Olympics and Paralympic events.
The Ordsall Community Cafe, on Tatton Street, in Salford of Greater Manchester, is inviting both adults and children of Salford, to try out new sporting activities at the event. The festival will have an inflated ring for Sumo wrestling, a climbing wall, a basketball competition, face-painting, beginner’s classes for Zumba and a game of rounders in the end at Regent Square park. A special zone for Under 10s will host giant games like Connect 4 and Jenga, plus a yoga session for mums and babies.
The free event is sponsored by the Partnership and Improvement Fund of Salford CCG, with Visit From The Stork, a young parents’ social enterprise, helping to run it. The free festival will start on Saturday, from 11am and run till 5pm. More details are on their Facebook page (facebook.com/leapsalford).
