Take part in South Lincolnshire Walking Festival’s free guided walks

The South Lincolnshire Walking Festival will be held from 24th September, up to 30th October and people are encourage to discover the varied landscape and hidden gems of the area in a series of free guided walks. Heritage Lincolnshire is encouraging anyone interested in walking, to join the free walks in South Holland, Boston, North and South Kesteven.

Organisations like Curly Dog Walking and Adventures, RSPB, Ales and Trails UK, Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, Ramblers, Walking for Health and many more, are arranging 80 guided walks and 60% of them are dog-friendly. Some of the walks feature openings or visits of rare historical buildings. Walk lengths vary in distance and difficulty levels. The detailed programme can be downloaded from the website or is available at libraries and from the Tourist Information Centre.

On 24th September, the launch event will officially take place near Spalding, at nature reserve Willow Tree Fen, by Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. There will be also crafts, minibeast hunts and other activities, besides the guided walks around the site. On 30th October, the finale of the festival will be held at Temple Bruer Tower. There will be a tour and walk besides activities for children, that are Halloween-themed.
