Groove Academy in Stone among first to run TAPfit classes

TAPfit is a dance fitnesses craze from Australia and the Groove Academy in Stone Staffordshire is going to be one of the first to run the patented fitness classes in UK. Stone resident, Kate Beauchamp, the owner of Groove Academy is among the first handful of British dance teachers trained and licensed to run TAPfit classes.

TAPfit is a high-intensity mix of fitness exercises and tap dancing that has been patented by 4 Australian sisters. TAPfit uses attachments fit over training shoes that the dancers wear. To create the tap dancing experience, the shoes are fitted with metal plates. These inserts exclusive to TAPfit are imported from Australia. Special bamboo mats are used and dancers also use for upper body workout a rubber resistance band.

TAPfit classes are being planned by Groove Academy at a range of venues that include first their headquarters at Stafford, in Northfield Centre and then at Great Bridgeford Village Hall, Acton Trussell Village Hal and St. Dominic’s Social Hall at Stone. During the launch of TAPfit classes, free taster session of half-hour duration will be offered. It will be followed later by the 45-minute classes.
