The University of Central Lancashire, Preston, is organising a free literary event on 21st July, Thursday. It is an evening of literary activity being held for northern writers and publishers. The free event aims to help up and coming authors to get published. The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) event is a literary evening aimed at book and writing enthusiasts and will be hosted in the UCLan capmpus’ Darwin Lecture Theatre, in the Darwin Building, from 6pm to 8:30pm.
Attending here will be a variety of special guests. Taking place will be a panel discussion on the wider book industry and on Young Adult Fiction. Panellists will share a range of insights, experience and advice for the aspiring writers. The guests include- Paul Ferns (author of The Element Order, the young adult fantasy series); Keith Duffy (Founder of Bluemoose Book Publishing); Jake Hope (respected freelance consultant of the book industry and judge of children’s fiction); Staphannie Cox (working for Awards Publications Ltd, a children’s publisher).
MA Publishing students at UCLan, Victoria McKay, Ruth Slater and Elsa Carron are the organisers. They said they were looking forward to a promising evening from the panellists.
