Surrey Docks Watersports Centre is welcoming participants to Greenland Dock to join free sessions of try-outs offered for windsurfing and sailing. The sessions will be held on 16 July, 14 August and 17 September, as part of Summer of Sailing being organised ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympics, by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA). A team of professional instructors will be present for guidance at the centre overlooking Greenland Dock welcoming people of all levels of experience.
The RYA Regional Development Officer for the South East and London is Steve Mitchell, who said the Try Sailing Day gives people thinking about returning to the sport a perfect opportunity for a dinghy sailing experience for the fist time. He said the South East and London have fantastic venues for sailing that includes inland and coastal locations and that are affordable and accessible. Whether an individual, a couple or a family, an expert team on hand will help you have a fantastic session, he pointed out.
