The seaside resort of Southsea will see a celebration by food fans, as the Southsea Food Festival returns for the tenth year. The free event, celebration a decade of fun and flavours, is to be held on 16th and 17th July, which will be centred around Palmerston Road. Food fans will see from 10am to 4pm each day, stalls selling local food and drink, plus a host of independent traders belonging to local restaurants here. Dotted along the crossroads market will be south coast food businesses.
An acoustic music stage will offer a mix of laid-back beats and mellow music sessions, with the Heart FM attending. Kids can not only meet animals at the Kidsrome farmyard on Staley Street, but also get face-painting or head to the cupcake station for cake decoration. The precinct will be occupied on Saturday by the Love Southsea Food Market. On Sunday the Hampshire Farmers Market will take over.
Robin Van Creveld, community chef, will be showing how easily street food can be made at home using seasonal and local produce. Local restaurateurs will join him on stage, to also share tips and favourite recipe at this popular free event.
